Supporting Parents of School Refusers
When a child is struggling to attend school, the impact can be felt by the whole family. Parents often find themselves feeling overwhelmed, worried and unsure how best to help.
Charlotte offers support for parents and carers of children experiencing school avoidance, emotionally based school non-attendance and school related anxiety. Sessions focus on understanding the child's individual needs, exploring factors that may be contributing to attendance difficulties and identifying practical strategies to support both the child and family.
Consideration is given to neurodivergent traits and diagnoses, including Autism and ADHD, where relevant. The aim is not simply to improve attendance, but to develop a greater understanding of the child's experiences and create a supportive, sustainable pathway towards engagement with education and emotional wellbeing.
